Rev. Becky Rokitowski, Associate Pastor & Dir. Of Youth Ministries
Raymond Pandley, II, Youth Ministry Assistant

As a youth group we are committed to being respectful to all that enters our doors. To show respect we will disconnect from our electronic devices (cell phones, iPads, Nooks, tablets, etc…) so we can connect with each other. We will support one another through encouragement, accountability and love. We recognize to fully commit to this we must be honest with each other and be present in one another’s lives!

In Ancient Greek folklore, a phoenix (/ˈfiːnɪks/; Ancient Greek: φοῖνιξ, phoînix) is a long-lived bird that cyclically regenerates or is otherwise born again. Associated with the sun, a phoenix obtains new life by arising from the ashes of its predecessor. According to some sources, the phoenix dies in a show of flames and combustion.  Although this creature is from mythology, you can see the ties to our Christian faith.  As Christians, God gives us the chance to start over every day with a completely clean slate.  Through the power of the Holy Spirit (also symbolized with flames) we are born again.

The new year is a great time to talk about new beginnings and starting over.  We all have things we need to let go of, and new things we want to set our minds on.  Join us on January 5th for ROOTED down at Generations Park for a little bit of fire and combustion at our Phoenix Party.  Bring a friend!

Sunday Morning

During the school year, Saint Paul’s offers two worship experiences on Sunday mornings. Worship Services are at 8:30 and 11:00 a.m.  Both are in the Sanctuary.  During the summer we have one worship service at 9:30 a.m.

Sunday School is at 9:45 a.m. in Room 302
We encourage youth to share freely and to express doubts and questions as well as their beliefs. Our only rule is to show respect for one another. And we ALWAYS have snacks! Lesson topics include studies of what the Bible has to say about specific issues, looking at contemporary issues from a Christian perspective, and just about anything our youth want to discuss! Contact teachers Charlie Guyton, 599-9423, and Meg Guyton, 443-4175 for more information.  (during the summer this class meets at 10:45 a.m.)

Youth Choir

Every Sunday night from 4:15 – 5:15 p.m. our Youth Choir meets in choir room. No experience is necessary and it is a rocking time to worship and praise God through music! Please contact the wonderful Gaye Herndon at [email protected].

Rooted Sunday Nights

Every Sunday night from 5:15 – 7:00 p.m. join us in the Parlor for fellowship, snack supper, games, and a message of faith. Middle and High small groups are a part of our evening. Bring yourself, bring a friend (or maybe 2), and bring an appetite.

Upcoming Events

Jan. 5th – Phoenix Party at 5:15pm at Generations Park  (youth choir also starts back this Sunday at 4:30pm)

Chili Cook-Off

Everyone mark your calendars for February 2, 2020!  There are titles to defend, and chili to be eaten as the youth group hosts our annual chili cook-off!  Come support our youth as they raise money for their summer mission trip.  Look for sign-ups this month, and come hungry.  Our Chili Cook-off will be right after worship in Sanders Hall.
