Jesus tells us a rock solid foundation is essential for a house to be able to withstand the rains and winds of a storm. In the parable, we also learn that a rock solid faith foundation will help us weather the storms of life. This is the kind of faith we want to build in the children so that when they run up on the storms of life, their house of faith will stand strong and give them strength and shelter.
In this fall season of lessons, the children will learn about Abraham and his family. God invited Abraham to be part of a special relationship. In this relationship, if Abraham would go where God told him, then God would make Abraham the patriarch of a great nation and protect him. That is how the stories for the Fall quarter begin - with Abraham and his wife Sarah. Boys and girls will go on a journey that covers four generations: Stories of Abram, Sarah, Lot, Isaac, Rebekah, Jacob, Esau, Rachel, and Joseph and his brothers. The children will see just how the Family of God began.
Junior Church K - 5th Graders 11:00 - 12:00 noon
Junior Church
There will be a weekly Junior Church time following the Children's Chat during the 11:00 am worship service. Kids will come to worship with you, and following the chat at the altar, will leave through the side narthex doors for the chapel with an adult leader. In the chapel, we will have our "Junior Church" complete with candle-lighting, songs, Bible stories and prayers. Following our Junior Church in the chapel, the kids will head over to the SPARKS Room 210 where they will be until pick-up following worship or the 11:00 Sunday School session.
Parents who participate in the 9:45 contemporary worship service and attend an 11:00 Sunday School class during the 11:00 hour may bring their child to the front pew to sit with one of the pew buddies at the beginning of worship, and then pick up your child at the end of class in the SPARKS Room 210.
