Families have many times that they can celebrate - birthdays, Christmas, special achievements or awards, etc.  Many people would not think of Lent as a time of celebration.  Yet, it is a time when we can recall the great love and mercy of God who gave his Son for us.  That is reason to celebrate!  And although Jesus' love for his Father and for us led him to the cross, he was raised and won our salvation.  That is very good news for us.

Our Children's Ministries Lay Team has created for our church families "The Lenten Jar."  Whether you are single, have little ones, teenagers or grown children now, "The Lenten Jar" will help move you through the season of Lent.  Lent is a time when we prepare our hearts, minds and souls for the sacred observances of Christ's death on Good Friday and his resurrection on Easter. 

Displays of sample jars will be set up in the Narthexes and Sanders Hall beginning on March 9.  You may also click here to print out the paper slips to be cut apart and placed in your jar at home.  The slips contain messages and actions for you to do daily during Lent  ~ March 9, Ash Wednesday through April 24, Easter Sunday!
