Letter from Jill Merryday, Director of Children's Ministries
Dear Saint Paul's Friends & Families!
YEAH! School is out for summer! I know you are ready for a great summer, and I look forward to seeing you and your kids around Saint Paul's! Here is what is up for THIS SUNDAY!
THIS SUNDAY during our Sunday School hour, 9:45-10:45, we are starting our Super Summer Sunday School program ... iGo Green! Kids who have completed K-5th grades will join together for their lessons in Rooms 302 & 304, with a split during the hour of older and younger ages.
Kids will learn the biblical foundation for taking care of creation... going green and what is entails. Fun skits, crafts and science experiments will give them an awareness of the world God created through Bible stories and discussion. Kids will learn that they can make a difference in the world as they make commitments to care for God's creation through obedience, gratitude, respect and justice.
IMPORTANT... FOR THE NEXT TWO SUNDAYS... we will need you to bring a plastic milk gallon containers and yogurt containers if you have them! Something is in store for those items. :)
During the summer, our Sunday School Teachers take a well deserved break from their classes, and we rely mainly on parent volunteers to assist during the summer. If you would be willing to help on a Sunday or two with the children, please let me know what days you could be available. Jo Ellen Brown, our Kindergarten teacher, has agreed to lead this Science Sunday School for summer!! We are so thankful to her and her team of helpers, but please volunteer as you are able!
I recently started sending SPARKS iNewsletters out once a month by email. This newsletter should have everything ABOUT AND FOR KIDS at Saint Paul's ... all things kids! If you have not received them, PLEASE send me an email to let me know, and I hope you will forward them on to your friends... and share about the Kid's Stuff at Saint Paul's!
